Meditation

We offer on-line, downloadable and in-person meditations in Heathfield, East Sussex. Check our this page for meditation groups, and meditation workshops.
To meditate is to focus your mind for a period of time (rather than letting it roam free).

When it comes to meditation I (Karin) actually walk my talk! Despite being a busy, home educating mum who is actively involved in running our family business, I make the time to meditate at least once a day.
This brings me the many benefits of Meditation:
  • Relaxation
  • Clarity
  • Connection to true self and increased self-awareness
  • Feeling Calm
  • Enjoying Peace
  • Better Productivity
  • Tapping into Creativity
  • Feeling Free
  • Being Present
  • Feeling Positive
  • Patience
  • Better sleep
  • Raising my Vibration
  • Entering into a Flow state

You don’t need anything or anyone to meditate. However, learning to meditate is much easier and more potent when practiced under guidance or in a group.

Folding yourself up like a pretzel and chanting ‘om’ is not the only way to meditate. In fact, there are infinitely many ways to do so.
Have a look at the list below to help you find the method that suits you best.

They are marked with an E – for Quick and easy to learn or a P – it takes dedicated practice to gain benefits
Listen to a guided meditation - E
This is where a tutor gently talks you through a process or a journey. Either in person or via an MP3 recording or a video. Find some examples here: Guided Meditations, Guided Crystal Meditations.
Crystal Meditation - E
A Crystal Meditation is when you make use of the energy of one or more Crystals to aid in the meditation process. This is Karin's field of expertise and we offer much guidance on this subject through our articles, videos, books, meditations, products, groups and workshops.
Focus on an object or drawing - P
Here you take an object and bring your attention fully to it. Candles can be good as the shape of the flame displays some gentle movement which helps to hold your interest. Sitting on the beach and looking at the waves works well too.
Focusing on yantras or mandalas can have very profound effects on your consciousness, especially if you created the mandala yourself. And even more so if a mandala was created with Crystals. See examples here: Crystal Mandala Kits
Focus on your senses in the now moment - P
Mindfulness meditation gets you to focus your full attention on your senses in the now moment. It is about simply accepting them as they are, without any judgement. It has its roots in the Buddhist traditions.
We sometimes use this concept during our Crystal Workshops and Crystal Groups.
Yoga (or other exercise such as Tai-Chi) Meditation - P
When exercise is done correctly you place your focus on synchronising movement with breath. Once you are able to do this with confidence and joy you can enter a meditative state. Ensure that your tutor covers the spiritual aspect of the discipline – not all of them do!
Nature Meditation - E
Simply going for a walk in the woods or sitting down under a tree, listening to the birds sing and feeling the sunshine (or here in the UK raindrops) on your skin can allow you to enter into a meditative state. Try it, it’s free! Make sure that your mind is fully focused on nature though.
Breathing Meditation - E
Counting your breath, counting up to a number and then back down again, following the flow of your breath through your nostrils down into your belly are all popular methods for meditating. You can do this on your own or with guidance.
Laughter Meditation - E
Laughing (this can be pretend laughing) can be a great way to achieve a meditative state. Watch or listen to something funny and let yourself go. Alternatively, we know a great Laughter Leader who can help you get there. Contact us for her details.
Progressive meditation (body scan) - E
This is where you place your focus on different parts of your body, often starting with the feet and then bringing your focus from there onto other body parts. Many guided Meditations make use of this technique.
Transcendental meditation - P
For transcendental meditation you are given a mantra which you repeat silently to yourself to help you keep your focus. A Mantra is a word or sentence that is used to help you keep your focus during meditation. Be sure to seek out a good teacher to embark on this journey.
Chakra meditation - P
Chakras are the spiritual power centres of the body. Our human body has seven major chakras. Each of them is linked to the spinal cord and is responsible for certain areas and functions of the body. A Chakra meditation focuses on balancing and clearing these energy centres. Many guided meditations and Crystal Meditations focus on chakras.
Sound bath meditation - E
This can be music, gongs, drums, bird song or any other sound of your choice. Go for something that makes you feel peaceful and relaxed, lifting your spirits.
Chanting / singing / mantra Meditation - P
This is where you use your voice (and how this sends a vibration through your body) as a point of focus. We sometimes do them during our workshops and nurture retreats.
Walking Meditation (is one of the Zen Meditations) - E
A meditation where you fully focus on placing one foot in front of the other. We sometimes do them on our workshops and nurture retreats.
Some even manage to meditate whilst they work, ... - P
... especially if they love what they do and the work is a creative expression of who they truly are!
This is where you completely get in the flow, feeling connected and joyful knowing that what you are creating is a full expression of your true self. The Truth is that everyone should feel this way most of the time.
And this is why we are here – to help you awaken your True Self and connect you to your Creative Expression. In particular see Marcus’ Ascension Healing & Guidance sessions.
